Good to be home but where will it be next....

I've arrived safe and sound in good old Dundas Ontario, the town where time stands still. As much as I hated this place as a kid, I now love it as an adult. Yet to my surprise this time round time has done anything but stand still.

I've come home to find many things, many people and many places have changed. Maybe its just our age or that time in our life but I find everyone buying homes, getting engaged, getting married, having babies, expecting babies. As hard as it is not to measure yourself against others I find myself thinking and wondering - what have I done? How have I changed? I'm still living out of a suitcase with nothing to show for it!

Despite this little self-assessment and jealousy that I may have over others, others look at me and are jealous of what I have done and what I have accomplished. I guess you can really say that I have lived for myself and not for others, and have pursued my goals (not all of them, but at least some of them!). I've traveled the world, I've got 2 international degrees and 3 post-secondary degrees and now a bunch of letters I can put behind me name.... But despite this it still makes me wonder....What next?

I think I can officially say that I am ready to get off this merry-go round of my life and settle my wee self down somewhere that I can call home, somewhere that I can establish and grow my career.

As Bonnie and Scotland may be, I don't think its the place for me. I think its kind of like living in a greenhouse, a place that is always damp and wet but when the sun does shine (not often!) it is certainly one of the most pristine and pretty places I have been.

My trip home has made me realize how great Canada is, and also how much I have missed being close to friends and family. Officially on my agenda, the next stop and hopefully long term stop will be Vancouver. To me it has everything a young sexy singleton like myself could imagine. Its got the ocean, the mountains and the cosmopolitan city that I crave.

So a one way ticket to Vancouver please.

Sushi a la Yayo

Well I am still to find a good or even affordable place to each sushi here in Scotland. You'd think that with a country that is surrounded by the ocean having fish regularly would be more popular, that is other than the deep fried version of it!

So in the loss off a good sushi restaurant in Glasgow my dear friend Yayo has come to the rescue with the ingredients and the skill to teach my the sushi ways.

Thanks Yayo - will certainly not for get this!
Certainly beat Marks & Spencers poor excuse for sushi!

Heading home for a fortnight

If you could see or hear me know you would be able to tell how excited I am at the moment. I am so blessed to have such great friends that care and love me and are flying me home!

This coming Saturday 15th of July is Terra's garden party. This is a time when Terra's closet friends gather around and celebrate the friendship and love that we all shared with each other and that we all have for Terra.

It's been over 2yrs now since Terra left us for another world. Physically she maybe gone but spiritally I know that she is always there watching over us.

Sassy

Sailing in the Clye

So I have started sailing here in Greenock on Friday's and kayaking on Mondays and am actually starting to get a life again. The best thing about it is its "free" or at least it is free so far.

The Gourock Yacht club is trying to attract new members and puts on social sailing nights so people can come round and try things out and the same goes with Greenock boat club.

No pictures just yet of myself out on the boat but with the nice weather we've been having here on the clyde I've uploaded a picture here.
